The inaugural meeting of the Club Management Committee has taken place, and the most important outcome is that Rose Astbury has kindly agreed to become Club Secretary. This change is reflected on the Contacts page, and you will also now find a copy of the Club lease with St Modwen on the History page. Progress is being made on many other subjects and a further meeting of the Committee will take place on 9th January. If any Club member has any issue they wish to be discussed at that meeting, please advise any member of the Committee.

The changes agreed at the AGM are now reflected on this website. A reminder that we are still looking for Team Captains. Just to clarify, Team Captains can be non-playing. The Club provides this wonderful and improving facility, and now is your chance to give something back. Please let any Club Official know if you are willing to volunteer for any of these vital jobs.

Many thanks to all who attended the AGM - particularly good to see some of our new members in attendance.

Green CLOSED with effect from 1st October to enable essential maintenance work to be carried out.

Final Saturday Mixed League tables published.

Report and photos of the internal Doubles Tournament and social afternoon on Events page.

Final Oakhill Leagues tables published.

Final tables for Stoke Men and Staffs Ladies published. Both teams unfortunately suffered a slight slip down their respective tables in the last couple of weeks, but both enjoyed consistent seasons. More details on the Events page.

Full report and photos on an excellent garden party are on the Events page.

News of individual success on the Events page.

It has also been decided that the 'Club Person of the Year' will be decided by a forum of the Club Officials (Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer) together with the team Captains.Watch this space for more details.

Please note the Club has new pink start mats, which are to be used for League matches only. For practice/social bowling please continue to use the old yellow mats.

Hope you like the new look of the website. The rolling photos at the top of each page have a pause symbol (||) alongside which will pause any particular photo you wish to linger on.

With the Club running two teams on both Tuesday and Saturday afternoons, there is usually a home match on those days every week, so please go along and support your Club.

Why not check the fixtures to see when we're at home and, if you're free, pop along. You can help with scoring, measuring, refreshments, or just simply give your support.

Welcome to visitors to this site whose existing Club is threatened by Council cutbacks. We would welcome new members for 2018, and if you're interested in joining our friendly Club, with its greatly improved green, then please contact anyone on the Contacts page to find out more.

Barlaston is an ancient parish and large village of Stafford overlooking the Trent valley.  The name is of Anglo Saxon origin and is derived from Beornwulfs town or estate.  Barlaston is the gateway to the Downs Banks – owned by the National Trust and offering approximately 160 acres of bracken-covered moorland forming an idyllic backdrop to Barlaston village.

Barlaston Bowls Club is a village-based Crown Green Bowls Club offering both competitive League bowls as well as friendly social bowls. Why not come along and give us a try? - you're sure of a warm welcome!
